- Rainbowbuzz in the heart of the EU - ILGA EUROPE
On the 17th of May 2010, ILGA-Europe organised an event in the heart of the EU quarter in Brussels called “Rainbow Buzz in the Heart of the EU” with a view to raise awareness on homophobia and transphobia and highlight our demands towards the EU institutions. Flyers which summarises our demands towards the EU institutions and identifies what they can do to improve the situation where distributed. The event culminated with the release of 300 rainbow colours balloons.
 Organisations who launched last year the Rainbow Flashmob initiative in Russia have this year expanded their initiative to the Czeck Republic and various cities across Germany and invite more cities and countries to join in. On May 17th, 2010 gays and lesbians, bisexual and transgender people, their parents and children, friends and peers will again let the colorful baloons fly in the sky as a symbolic move to combat homophobia.
